Russian side Rubin Kazan have confirmed their interest in Napoli and Italy international striker Fabio Quagliarella.
Rubin Kazan managing director Evgeny Golov revealed that the Italy international is the player they have targeted as being capable of taking them to the next level in the Champions League.
“We really like Quagliarella as the striker we need to make the leap,” he said in Corriere dello Sport.
“We are missing someone like him.”
Quagliarella’s agent Giuseppe Bozzo confirmed he was aware of the interest in his client but said he has no plans to take the matter further until a bid arrives.
“They asked, would you be willing to come to Rubin?” he said.
Bozzo went on to add: “They must now talk to Napoli, make a formal bid, and then we will see. Meanwhile, I cannot disturb him while he is involved in such an important competition.”
