Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to face a lengthy touchline ban for his withering verbal attack on referee Alan Wiley.
The Manchester United boss was furious with the official’s display in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland and went on to say that referee Alan Wiley did not add enough injury-time and accused him of not being fit enough for the Premier League.
The comments will today be reviewed by the Disciplinary and Governance Unit with a charge of improper conduct sure to follow.
Ferguson blasted that he does not think that the referee was fit and that is an indictment to the game. He added that referees abroad are as fit as butchers’ dogs.
Sir Alex’s rant goes against the FA’s Respect campaign and comes just two weeks after he was pictured sharing a joke with Wiley during the derby with City.
