It has been reported that Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has reaffirmed hopes of keeping their best players beyond the January market.
Senegalese wide-man Sadio Mane is wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea while top-scorer Graziano Pelle in being eyed up by Juventus.
Koeman said “Of course I would like to keep the best players as that means we can grow and grow. If not we need to spend money and we don’t spend a lot of money.
“After the last transfer window Southampton was the only team in the Premier to get money out of the transfer window.
“Everyone else spent more money than they got in. I’d like to change that but I’m realistic. I hope we can do more for the next couple of years as that will be important for the club.”
