Sensational news are out and it has been reported that Stephen Ireland wants Manchester City to give him a loyalty pay out otherwise he will not leave the club, wrecking their chances of getting James Milner from Aston Villa.
It has been reported that Ireland has agreed to leave Eastlands for Villa in a deal which would see Milner go the other way but he wants a £2million pay out because he feels he is being forced out of City.
A City source told Mirror Football confirmed that Ireland and his representatives have requested the payment but said it was very unlikely to happen.
“Stephen is asking for a ridiculous amount which he’s not going to get,” the source said last night. “Every other aspect of the deal has been agreed but he’s holding it up with his demand for a £2m pay-off – which he’s not going to get.”
