AC Milan and Brazilian international defender Thiago Silva has dismissed talks that he could join Real Madrid this summer.
According to Marca, Real Madrid were set to make a €10 million offer for Thiago Silva, now 25.
His agent, Paulo Tonietto, has also revealed that there is truth in reports that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is interested in the player.
Tonietto said : “Mourinho is assembling a team of champions at Real Madrid, and he therefore is eager to take Thiago there,”.
However the agent added that the player’s “arm is worth more” than €10 million.
Nonetheless, the player has now rejected any talk of a move to the Bernabeu and said he is fully focused on the upcoming season in Italy.
Thiago Silva on hie part told O Globo : “It’s an honour to have attracted the interest of a great club like Real Madrid, and Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world,”.
“Maybe one day I’ll work with him, but there’s no hurry.
He also said that : “I’m playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, I’m very happy, I’ve adapted well to Italy and I’m ready to have a great season.”
