It has been revealed that Tottenham have announced Emmanuel Adebayor has been released from his contract.
Tottenham confirmed they have released the former Arsenal and Manchester City star after coming to an agreement over the termination of his contract.
A club statement read: “We can confirm that we’ve reached a mutual agreement with Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the club.
“We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”
The Togo international was close to leaving in the summer but pulled out of a deal to join Aston Villa after complaining he wanted to stay in London.
The 31-year-old is now free to join another club, regardless of the end of the transfer window, which doesn’t apply to free agents.
