Sunday June 23, 2013 Kick off: 20:00 1st Round: Group B Arena Pernambuco

Diego Forlan 19Uruguay are without captain Diego Lugano after he was booked in the country’s first two games against Spain and Nigeria, with Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates set to replace him. A win will likely take Uruguay through with Nigeria, level on points, playing Spain, so Oscar Tabarez could rest some key players ahead of the semi-finals – with Edinson Cavani a prime contender given he is on a booking.

Tahiti are at full strength but in all truth the minnows are powerless to prevent another heavy defeat having lost 6-1 to Nigeria and 10-0 to Spain already in the tournament.

MANAGER QUOTES

Oscar Tabarez (Uruguay): “No match is won before playing but the more likely scenario is that. We will be called spoilsports but we’ll take that as a compliment.”

Eddy Etaeta (Tahiti): “I was pleasantly surprised to see that, although we conceded goal after goal, they continued to support us. Though we lost, we have won the heart of Brazil and I just want to thank the Brazilian public.”
