Robin Van Persie has revealed that he is desperate to face rival Emmanuel Adebayor in Arsenal’s Carling Cup quarter-final encounter at Manchester City.
Adebayor stamped on Van Persie in the sides’ league clash in September and Van Persie said that he wants to play in the match.
He added that he would be happy if Arsene Wenger decides to let him play.
Van Persie went on to say that it will be a good game because Man City have a good side and if Arsenal can find the right mix there is a big chance of winning the match.
Dutchman Van Persie was left with a gashed face when former Arsenal team-mate Adebayor raked him with his studs in City’s 4-2 win at Eastlands.
The FA hit Adebayor with a three-match ban for violent conduct and the Togo hitman was also fined for running the length of the pitch to celebrate a goal in front of Arsenal’s travelling fans.
