Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is set to have surgery on his injured right ankle that will rule him out of action for up to five months.
He was carried off on a stretcher following a heavy challenge from Azzurri defender Giorgio Chiellini and was originally expected to be out for between four to six weeks.
But the 26-year-old is now set to undergo the surgery that is expected to keep him sidelined until April next year.
