England striker Wayne Rooney has been declared as a doubt for England’s World Cup Round of 16 match-up with Germany.
The 24-year old Manchester United striker had to be substituted in Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Slovenia because of an ankle problem that has been persistent since he injured it in April.
However it is still unknown just how bad it actually is, although manager Fabio Capello was very hopeful.
The Italian said after the game : “I substituted Wayne because his ankle was not so good. He had some problems. I changed the team, substituted him, but I’m really happy with the performance of the team,”.
“I don’t know how he is. I have to wait on the doctor, but I think he will be fine on Sunday. I changed him. I substituted him.”
