Reports are coming in from Old Trafford that Wayne Rooney arrived with the rest of the team in the team bus and with a tracksuit on, also noticeable was his ankle minus the protective cast.
He also seems to be moving freely and that would suggest that he would at the very least play some part in today’s game.
The England striker had been ruled out for six weeks after spraining his ankle in last week’s first leg at the Allianz Arena but Sir Alex Ferguson has decided he is ready to return to the starting line-up.
The news is a major boost for United, who are seeking to overturn a 2-1 deficit. Rooney is United’s leading scorer and has emerged as the club’s most influential player this season.
Rumours of Rooney’s shock return have been circulating all day and bookmakers have reported a major gamble on him to be the first goalscorer against the German visitors this evening.
It is understood Rooney has been trainining behind closed doors for the past two days and the club’s medical staff have been pleased with his progress.
Either that or Ferguson is playing his mind tricks again
