Reports have emerged claiming that German club Werder Bremen are set to sign Papy Djilobodji from Chelsea.
The 27-year-old Senegalese defender joined the Blues from Nantes in the summer but has featured in just one game since arriving at Stamford Bridge and will be shipped out this month.
Rumours of a move to Bremen have surfaced this week and although no further details have been mentioned, the Bundesliga outfit’s chief executive Thomas Eichin suggested things were on the move.
Eichin told Bild: “We are in negotiations.”
Bremen currently sit third bottom in Germany’s top flight with the second worst defensive record in the league, highlighting their need for defensive reinforcements.
