Interesting transfer news are out and it has been reported that Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has made his first signing as a Premier League boss after completing a deal to bring in midfielder Jordi Gomez from Espanyol.
It is reported that the 24-year-old playmaker is well known to Martinez, who took him to Swansea on a year-long loan last season.
Gomez scored 14 goals for the Swans in the Championship and Martinez has wasted no time in bringing the player back to Britain.
He completed a medical on Friday and signed a three-year contract, for a reported £1.7million fee.
Martinez said to local reporters that Jordi is a real quality player and that he has a great left foot and is extremely pleasing on the eye as a player.
The manager also added that he has no doubts in his mind that Jordi will do well in the Premier League and that he can go all the way in the game, and to play in the Premier League is the next step in Jordi’s career.
