Reports are out claiming that Chelsea are chasing Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira.
The London Evening Standard reported that Chelsea have emerged as favourites to land Teixeira as Guus Hiddink seeks an answer to his striker crisis.
The Blues are in talks with the Ukrainian club over a over a £30m January deal for Teixeira and have been tracking him since Jose Mourinho was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Hiddink is concerned one more injury could end Chelsea’s outside chance of claiming a Champions League spot this season, with Loic Remy and Diego Costa his only first-team options available.
“Yes, I don’t deny that I’m concerned about Costa or Remy picking up another injury,” said Hiddink. “We are short, I hope they will stay fit.”
