According to Marca, Spurs have launched a £23 million bid for Atletico Madrid’s Jackson Martinez.
Following his £26.6m move from Porto in the summer, the Colombian international striker has failed to live up to his reputation, scoring three times in 20 appearances in La Liga for Atleti.
Searching for a forward to take the goal-scoring load off Harry Kane, Spurs have tabled an opening offer for Martinez, but it has been reported that Atletico will not accept a bid that does not match what they originally paid for the 28-year-old.
Atletico’s future transfer embargo may also play its part in halting the transfer of Martinez to White Hart Lane.
Arsenal are also said to be interested in the talented attacker.
