Reports are out claiming that Liverpool legend John Aldridge would love to see PSG striker Edinson Cavani move to Anfield.
Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: “I was intrigued by reports that Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani (below) could be a target for Rodgers in this transfer window.
“Cavani’s agent has suggested that Liverpool and Arsenal are in the race to sign him and he could be the player who could fill a chunk of the void left by his international team-mate Suarez at Anfield.
“This is a striker every club in the world wanted just a year ago and, while his stock has fallen considerably since his move to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, it may be that he just needs a fresh start to get him firing all over again.
“If he could be signed at the right price, his wage demands were not too high and he was inspired by the prospect of replacing his pal Suarez at Anfield, Cavani would be the kind of talisman who could join Gerrard as the standard bearers of Liverpool’s Champions League challenge.”
