Reports have emerged claiming that Arsenal target Gabriel Barbosa is open to the idea of staying put at Santos.
‘Gabigol’ is one of the most highly rated young players to have emerged from Brazil in recent times and it had been claimed that Premier League giants Arsenal were one of the many clubs interested in securing the services of the 19-year-old.
Despite the widespread interest though, Barbosa is in no rush to make a move away from Santos anytime soon and his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has gone on to reveal that the teenage sensation is staying put in Brazil for at least another year.
Ribeiro told Radio Globo: “A €25m (£20.8m) bid for Gabriel was already given to the president and he turned it down.
“The athlete already said he’s too young and wishes to stay at least for one more year.
“So, I believe he’s not leaving.”
