Reports are out claiming that Carl Jenkinson is hopeful of the England U21 side’s chances in the 2015 European Championships as the Three Lions get to kickstart their campaign against Portugal on Thursday.
The 23-year old Arsenal defender is confident England are ready to prove a point and show they are capable of winning on the biggest stage
“We don’t fear anything if we play to our potential,” he said
“‘Without blowing our own trumpet, we have a very good team. There is no reason not to be confident. But it’s the proper stuff now – it’s tournament time. This is where it really matters but so far it has been really good.
“Now it is about mentality. We have to go and do it on the big stage. There will be a lot of people watching this tournament. The reputation of football players in England is high and rightly so because we have the best league in the world and there will be a lot of eyes on us.”
