Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed has confirmed that the club is in new contract talks with Per Mertesacker.
The German international centre back has 18 months to run on his deal.
The Frenchman said: “He has one and a half years to go, so that is a long time. We are in the process of talking, yes.”
