Roma claimed their third straight win in Serie A with a 3-2 home triumph over Fiorentina tonight.
Fabio Simplicio broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time and Marco Borriello doubled Roma’s lead shortly after the restart.
Alberto Gilardino reduced the arrears in the 69th minute for the Viola but substitute Simone Perrotta made it 3-1 with 13 minutes remaining. Substitute Gaetano D’Agostino then scored with a free-kick to give the visitors a lifeline, but Roma held on for the victory.
The win lifted Roma, who had an awful start to the campaign, to sixth in the standings, while Fiorentina remain winless on the road and fall to 13th.
