Australia got the better of a five-goal thriller in Bochum as they edged out Equatorial Guinea 3-2 in Group D of the Women’s World Cup.
In a game full of incident goals from Leena Khamis, Emily van Egmond and Lisa de Vanna proved the difference for Australia as a brace from Genoveva Anonma kept Equatorial Guinea in it was not quite enough to register their first ever World Cup point.
Australia keep their hopes of qualification alive, whereas Equatorial Guinea are all-but out of the competition.
