Interesting transfer news are out claiming that Barcelona are keeping tabs on River Plate defender Eder Alvarez Balanta.
The versatile Colombian defender has been recommended to Barca by coach Tata Martino as a long-term successor for Carles Puyol.
It is said that the 20 year old will be watched by the Spanish champions this season, though plans for a move could be brought forward for January if Puyol fails to prove his fitness.
