Barcelona is confident that there is plenty of time to secure the signing of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
The reigning Spanish and European champions have taken their time in the transfer market this summer, with their first signing that of Alexis Sanchez from Udinese on Thursday, and others are expected to follow.
At a press conference held on Monday to formally unveil the Chile forward, Barcelona’s sporting vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu claimed the deal for Fabregas remains in the pipeline.
“They [the talks] are going in the right direction,” he said.
“We will try and do what we can with the money we have. We have until August 30 to do things and I am sure we will.”
