Bad news for all Barcelona fans and good news for all Arsenal fans as it has been reported that Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted the Spanish giants may not be able to prise Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal this summer.
According to Rosell, there are currently no talks between the two sides over a deal for the Gunners captain, who was in the Catalans’ youth system but moved to London at the age of 16.
Rosell told Catalan TV3 that : “Arsenal feels very hurt by Barca,”.
“They don’t want to listen to offers or sell and they are not putting the player (Fabregas) on the market. There was a strong dispute a few months ago and they have not forgotten it.”
It is said that Arsenal rejected a reported 29 million euro bid by FC Barcelona for the Spain international.
Rosell then added that : “He (Fabregas) will arrive, even if it is not now, it will be next year,”
“One thing that is certain is that we will not go mad trying to sign him.
“No shareholder would pay 60 or 70m euros for him. We will not go all out for him. We would only pay his value in the transfer market.”
Fabregas is under contract with Arsenal until June 2015.
