Chelsea came from a goal behind to beat Fulham 2-1 at Stamford Bridge as they consolidated their lead atop the Premier League.
Fulham took an early lead through Zoltan Gera and largely restricted their West London rivals to hopeful long-range efforts before a Didier Drogba header and an unfortunate Chris Smalling own-goal broke the visitors in a late two-minute spell.
An injury to Whites right-back John Paintsil – who was crucial in Fulham’s rearguard action and had contained Didier Drogba – was the key moment for Chelsea, who exploited his absence for both goals.
