Reports are out claiming that Chelsea have set their sights on acquiring Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay, should the Blues miss out on Everton’s John Stones.
Stones has reportedly handed in a transfer request as Chelsea prepare a £40million bid for the Toffees centre-back.
However, the Daily Mail is reporting Chelsea have lined up Garay as a contingency if the Stones deal falls through.
It is understood that Zenit have told Chelsea the Argentine international is not for sale, despite reports claiming Garay is looking for a move away from Russia.
