Reports are out claiming that Chelsea are preparing to table a £70million offer for Juventus star Paul Pogba.
The Daily Mail is reporting Blues owner Roman Abramovich has sanctioned the mammoth offer in an attempt to lure the French international to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood Chelsea have already had one offer for the 22-year-old knocked back by the Serie A club, but they will continue negotiations in the hope they can finalise a deal before the transfer window closes next week.
Earlier this summer, Blues boss Jose Mourinho said Pogba would instantly improve any team he plays for.
“Pogba is not to put pressure on people. Pogba is one of the top players in the world. Pogba goes to any team and improves that team automatically,” Mourinho said.
“If he stays at Juventus, Juventus will be very strong again. If he goes somewhere else he will improve immediately a team.”
Chelsea have in pursuit of former Manchester United youngster Pogba all summer and are now hoping to push through a deal before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.
