It has been reported that Chelsea star Eden Hazard believes he and his teammates are capable of making a strong push for the UEFA Champions League title this season.
Ahead of the Blues’ Group G trip to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night, the Belgian international winger feels that there is enough quality within Jose Mourinho’s squad to truly challenge such clubs as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
“My ambition in the Champions League is pretty much the same as it has been since I’ve been at Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website.
“Personally and collectively it is to go as far as we can, which is to win it.
“With the team we have I think that it’s possible. I don’t know if we are the favourite – there is also Real Madrid who are the holders, Bayern Munich are very strong again this year, there are some other great teams – so let’s see how it goes.
“There is a lot of quality in our group and we are all hoping we can go to the end.”
Chelsea opened their 2014/15 Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw at home with Schalke two weeks ago which has them even on one point with the remainder of the teams in the group that also includes Slovenian club NK Maribor.
