Jose Mourinho tasted his first ever defeat as the manager of Real Madrid after his team was outclassed and out played by defending champions FC Barcelona in the El Clasico.
Barcelona midfielder Xavi opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Pedro doubled the lead in the 18th minute. The score at half time was 2-0 to the home side.
Jose Mourinho then introduced midfielder Lass Diarra in place of Mesut Ozil but it could not prevent Barcelona from taking control of the game. Spain striker David Villa made the score 3-0 in the 55th minute and added another goal to his name three minutes later.
Substitute Jeffren then came off the bench to make the scoreline 5-0 in the dying minutes of the game.
Definitely a morale boosting victory for the home side but more importantly the win helps Barcelona to top the La Liga table while Real Madrid slip to second.
Sergio Ramos was then sent off for a deliberate foul on Lionel Messi as tensions raised at the end of the game. Truly an embarrassing defeat for Real Madrid and it is now back to the drawing board for the Special One.
