England were hammered 4-1 by Germany although they were denied an obvious equaliser as Frank Lampard’s shot crossed the line by at least a yard, but was not given by the officials just before half-time.
Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski had put Germany ahead early on after some awful defending from England, before Matthew Upson got one back.
However, following the officials’ gaffe, Thomas Muller netted twice in the second half to put the gloss on the result and send England home
