It has been reported that Gonzalo Higuain is backing Napoli’s move for Barcelona utility Javier Mascherano.
Recent reports suggest that Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is chasing his former Liverpool midfielder this month.
Higuain said: “Javier is a very important player and a friend of mine, it would be a pleasure to have him in Naples.
“[Rafa] Benitez knows him very well because he coached him at Liverpool.
“[Sporting director Riccardo] Bigon is doing a great job. We are calm, this is a great team. If someone arrives in January to help the squad, we are happy. Otherwise, we can do great things with this squad.”
