Italy v Brazil – Team News

Saturday June 22, 2013
Kick off: 20:00
1st Round: Group A
Arena Fonte Nova

Andrea PirloItaly coach Cesare Prandelli has problems in midfield to sort out before going into the game. Veteran playmaker Andrea Pirlo will miss the match with a muscle injury. Also missing will be Daniele De Rossi, who is suspended after collecting two yellow cards.

Luiz Felipe Scolari will replace midfielder Paulinho with Lazio’s Hernanes but the Brazil coach has yet to decide whether to play defenders Dani Alves and Thiago Silva, both of whom are one caution away from missing the next game.

Cesare Prandelli: “They have personality, strength, a strong defence and four extraordinary forwards. But their main feature is when it comes down to one on ones. There are four players who can always invent a new play at any time. My expectation is when you play Brazil and when you play in Brazil like tomorrow, is a demanding and difficult match.”

Luiz Felipe Scolari: “We are going to play to win, we may go for a draw during the game but we are not going to set out playing for a draw.”
