Reports are out claiming that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is happy to help young gun Alex Iwobi.
Having made the step-up from the youth set-up to the first-team at just 16 years of age Wilshere is happy to offer his support even if he is convinced that Iwobi will make the grade with ease.
“Coming into a dressing room with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez can be scary for a young player,” he told the Arsenal Weekly Podcast.
“To be fair to Alex, he’s a good kid. He wants to learn. He’s got the right attitude in training and when he gets on the pitch he’s showing the fans what he can do.
“I don’t like to call it mentoring. Alex is 19, he’s not a kid. But I know what it’s like for him. I feel a responsibility to put him in the right direction, to answer his questions.”
