John Terry Admits Community Shield Defeat To Arsenal A Blessing In Disguise For Chelsea

Reports have emerged claiming that Chelsea captain John Terry believes Sunday’s Community Shield loss to Arsenal could be a positive wake-up call.

The Premier League champions were beaten 1-0 by their London rivals at Wembley and although it is only a pre-season cup, Terry insists the Blues were desperate to continue winning silverware.

However, the 34-year-old defender insists it is not such a bad thing to get this kick in the pants so close to the new season.

“Sometimes you win, win, win. It’s not nice losing, we wanted to win the Community Shield,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.

“The only positive was we played well and more importantly the disappointment within the squad can be a wake up call, it could be a blessing in disguise.”
