Reports have emerged claiming that Chelsea captain John Terry has not given up hope of signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The 35-year-old’s current deal with the Blues expires at season’s end, but he is yet to receive a new contract offer from the club, despite clearly stating his desire to play on next season.
“I am still very hopeful,” Terry said, speaking at the London Football Awards.
“I have been there 21 years and I will never give up until if finally happens. But who knows?
“I have still got a lot to give – whether that is here or somewhere else – that is for sure.”
