Juventus took a step closer to their first Serie A title since 2003 after returning to the top of the table with an impressive 4-0 victory over 10-man Roma at the Juventus Stadium.
A brace from Arturo Vidal and another from Andrea Pirlo came in an eventful first half which also had Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg sent off after the Dutchman brought down Claudio Marchisio inside the box all within the opening half-hour. Marchisio added a well-worked fourth in the second half to cap a fine display from the Old Lady.
Juventus head coach Antonio Conte made just the one change from the side that beat Lazio 2-1 in Turin 11 days ago with Paolo De Ceglie replacing Simone Pepe as the hosts went in search of their sixth successive league win. It was also a golden opportunity for them to return to the top after leaders AC Milan could only draw with Bologna 1-1 earlier in the day.
