Reports are out claiming that Liverpool have told Manchester City to get serious if they want Raheem Sterling.
The Daily Star Sunday reported that City must offer at least £40million if they are to land Sterling – at the third attempt.
City at first offered £25m plus £5m worth of add-ons which was rejected by the Anfield club.
And after upping that bid by another £10m the answer from Liverpool was exactly the same – an emphatic “No.”
The offer was £35m in cash with £5m in extras but Liverpool argue that there are no guarantees that those lucrative add-ons will be paid into their bank.
They want at least £40m up front for a player valued at around £50m but Liverpool have not set that as an official price.
The England international is also linked with a move to Arsenal.
