It has been reported that Jordon Ibe has won praise from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry for his performance for Liverpool on Sunday.
The 19-year old stepped out in a right wing-back position for Brendan Rodgers at Southampton and impressed with a brilliant showing in the 2-0 win.
After the match, Sky Sports pundit Henry spoke of Ibe’s maturity to understand the game in a less advanced role than he usually occupies and feels his showing would have resonated well with the other Reds players.
“It was an amazing performance,” Henry said of the former Derby County loanee on Super Sunday.
“It wasn’t the step overs and nutmegs but he showed maturity in a game like that at an early age, it’s his maturity to understand the game.
“The way he was tucking in to show he can cover his back three and the midfielders, he never gave up, he worked hard for his teammates and that’s how you gain the respect of teammates.
“That is why he is playing for Liverpool.”
