Manchester City 1-1 Everton – Highlights

A point was enough for Manchester City to move temporarily to the top of the Premier League on goal difference, following a tight 1-1 draw with Everton.

A slow first half broke into life as Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring, arriving first to the rebound after Joe Hart had saved his initial header.

The goal woke up a lacklustre City who finally created some clear-cut chances through Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko, before the Argentine converted a penalty that the Bosnian was lucky to win after being pulled by Fellaini.

City produced a far more imposing performance in the second half as they brought out some excellent defending from Everton and came close to scoring through a Maicon effort.

However, as the game went on the chances continued to dry up and the game always looked like ending all square.

The draw means City rise to the summit of the Premier League, though with Manchester United playing Reading this evening it may well not be for long.
