Reports are out that Premier League giants Manchester United remain interested in Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
According to the Daily Star Sunday, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson tried to sign the France striker from Lyon for £30million a year ago after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo.
However the French international striker, just like Cristiano Ronaldo opted to join Real Madrid.
Fergie, however, still wants Benzema whose future is now in the hands of new Real boss Jose Mourinho.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager is refusing to sell Benzema, 22, at the moment, as he makes an assessment of the players he has inherited.
But if Mourinho decides that the Fergie target is not in his plans, United will act before the transfer window closes at the end of next month.
