Reports are out claiming that Simon Mignolet has implored Liverpool not to get carried away in the lead-up to this weekend’s meeting with Manchester United.
The Reds host United at Anfield on Sunday with the chance to leapfrog their arch rivals into fourth spot but goalkeeper Mignolet wants calm in the build-up to the potentially season-defining fixture.
“We know there will be a huge build-up,” he said.
“But as professional football players we can’t get carried away. We have a good squad who are willing to fight for each other.
“We work hard and sometimes it is even more satisfying to get the three points in that way.”
Liverpool have won their past five Premier League outings and have not been beaten in the league since they lost 3-0 to the Red Devils at Old Trafford in mid-December.
