Reports are out claiming that Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta believes the foundations laid four years ago is now bearing fruit.
After a strong finish to the season, a second successive FA Cup win and the capture of Petr Cech, they have eyes fixed on a first Premier League title since 2004.
“This is a process that started three or four years ago,’ said Arteta. ‘Suddenly the club’s perspective and potential, instead of selling the best players, they decided to keep the players and keep adding the quality every year.
“Once we do that, we start to show more consistency, start to win trophies, confidence, atmosphere and everything gets better.
“But I wouldn’t go too far. First of all is the preparation and the training. We know how much we need to start not like some years before.”
