Reports are out claiming that Newcastle United are willing to break their transfer record to land Olympique Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi recently penned a new deal at the Ligue 1 outfit and is valued at around £30m.
If McClaren wants to land his man he will need to smash the £17m transfer record paid for Michael Owen in 2005.
Batshuayi has bagged 21 goals in 50 games since switching from Belgian side Standard Liege.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also linked with the Belgium international star.
