More transfer news are out and it has been reported that French striker Djibril Cisse is close to joining Greek side Panathinaikos.
It was a wide known fact that the ex-Liverpool ace Cisse spent last season on loan at Sunderland but they did not take up their option to buy the striker.
The 27-year-old is now on the verge of signing a four-year deal with Panathinaikos and club president Nikolas Pateras has confirmed they have agreed a fee of around £6.8million with Marseille.
He said that has almost been a year that Panathinaikos has been interested in Djibril Cisse and that there is nothing left but for him to sign.
He also said that the club has reached an agreement with Marseille, and that the player is coming with his wife and will stay two to three days in Greece.
Pateras also said that if everything goes well, Cisse will be a Panathinaikos player.
