Reports are out claiming that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has cooled talk of a January deal for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Perez also hinted that he expects the Spanish international goalkeeper to sign a new deal at Manchester United.
Asked by Spanish radio Cadena Cope if he would try to sign him in January he said: “No definitely not,” and when pushed on what Madrid’s next move might be he added: “We are not contemplating that he comes next year.
“He is there and we have three very good goalkeepers. We have not told him not to sign (a new deal). He has to do what is best for his career. It’s very difficult that he does nothing for a year. When people say: “wait for a year and then he comes free” that has never happened with any big player.”
