Bad news for all Manchester United fans as striker Robin van Persie is ruled out for month with a thigh injury.
The former Arsenal striker has scored seven goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season.
The 30 year old Dutch international injured his thigh after the corner he took that led to Phil Jones’ match winner in a 1-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“It’s unfortunate because I think if you look at our record with Wayne Rooney and Robin in the team, it is actually very good and we have not had them for quite a period recently,” said boss David Moyes.
“Robin Van Persie is out as well for a month. He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal.”
