Reports are out claiming that AS Roma are set to hijack Chelsea’s move for Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman.
The Mirror reported last month that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has selected the 21-year-old Ghana international as the direct replacement for Atletico Madrid-bound Filipe Luis.
But Italian club Roma have now made a £11million offer for the player and are ready to offer him a five-year contract.
Rahman also prefers a move to the Serie A club as he suspects his career at Stamford Bridge might follow the same trajectory as his friend Christian Atsu, who joined two years ago and is yet to make his debut.
The talented youngster is also linked with a move to Arsenal.
