It has been reported that Sunderland boss Gus Poyet was happy to announce the signing of Anthony Reveillere on Thursday.
The Black Cats have captured the 34-year old French defender on a short-term deal and Poyet was thrilled to add the experience of the former Lyon star to his underperforming squad.
“We needed someone,” Poyet told Sky Sports News HQ.
“We couldn’t find anyone in the Under-21s that was good enough, so we looked at Anthony.
“He is an experienced player and has played at the highest level.
“We checked on his fitness levels, and he was okay, but adapting to the pace of the Premier League will take time.”
Reveillere has joined Sunderland until the end of the season and could make his debut against Arsenal this weekend if his international clearance is complete.
