Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed that Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has turned down a loan move to the Championship club.
The former England boss has been looking to bring in a top-quality keeper after Wigan’s Chris Kirkland recently completed a brief loan spell at the Championship club.
Leicester made an enquiry for Kuszczak, but the Poland international declared that he would like to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford.
“Tomasz doesn’t want to come to us,” Eriksson told Skysports.com.
“But the goalkeeper we have, Chris Weale, is doing very well for us so I am confident in him.
“We are not going out to buy just a goalkeeper. It must be an absolute top keeper or we will stay with what we have. I am only interested if he is a top, top keeper.
“I think the last few games Chris has played he has been brilliant for us.”
