Premier League club Tottenham are interested in signing former Arsenal and Chelsea man, Lassana Diarra, who is no longer wanted by Real Madrid.
Tottenham tried to buy the 25-year-old when he wanted to quit the Gunners in 2008 but their rivals refused to sell the midfielder to them and he joined Portsmouth instead.
Spurs coach Harry Redknapp, who brought him to Fratton Park, is desperate to strengthen his central midfield and has turned to Diarra having seen bids for West Ham’s Scott Parker rejected, although he may have to settle for a loan deal, says the London Evening Standard.
